Inspired by the local history of the 1921 Central Picture Palace and Ritz Theatre in Concord, Costa Meitanis and his family wanted to revive the simple yet lost traditions of good food and a friendly community. They set up shop in the historic building and opened welcoming doors in 2006, adding a second restaurant in Leichhardt shortly after.

The venue captures all the class of a charming coffee shop in the middle of a Roman street. There’s a 60s Hollywood vibe. You almost expect Audrey Hepburn to appear sitting in the corner, sipping a Cappucino.

But with all the nostalgia comes a business that looks to the future. Costa listens to his customers and moves with the times. The demand for eco-friendly packaging was strong, so Costa made the switch from plastic to paper products - joining the trek to a healthier planet.
