Sustainability is at the heart of our business. Pinnacle strives to improve the impact on the Environment through innovation. That is why Pinnacle introduced the Enviro Corrugated range over 20 years ago to replace foam products. We have developed many other products which reduce or replace our use of plastic packaging. Today we lead the way with our Truly Eco range of Aqueous Hot and Cold cups along with a Truly Eco paper lid range to provide a complete certified home compostable package.

Scope

The Australian Packaging Covenant, underpinned by the National Environment Protection (Used Packaging Materials) Measure 2011 (NEPM) has set the ambitious target that: 

100 per cent of Australian packaging be recyclable, compostable, or reusable by 2025 or earlier to cut down on the amount of waste we produce. 

70% of plastic packaging being recycled or composted. 

50% of the average recycled content is included in the packaging (revised from 30% in 2020). 

The phase out of problematic and unnecessary single-use plastics packaging.

Pinnacle Packaging has undertaken considerable due diligence on which material is best fit for purpose, has best quality for cold, heat and taste retention, and has the best sustainable/environmental outcome that aligns to the Australian Single Use packaging legislation and future State government mandates. We continue to review our product offering, as well as our own internal practices such as recycling pallet wrapping, increasing/maximising the height of the pallets we deliver, and reducing delivery frequency and costs.
